My name is Steve Nielson, and I am the science and Spanish teacher here at Sorenson’s Ranch School in Koosharem Utah. I enjoy each day teaching students at our school. I have been in this position for almost twenty-eight years. It has been rewarding, yet challenging at the same time.
I graduated from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah with my associate of arts degree and went on to complete my bachelor of science at Southern Utah University with an emphasis in geology. My minors were in chemistry, physics, math, and Spanish. I then completed my teacher certification while at SUU. I went on to obtain my master’s in minerology and sedimentation/stratigraphy at Western Washington University at Bellingham, Washington.
Some of my hobbies include: sports, camping, hunting, fishing, and rock hounding. I am also a family man with a wife and five children. It has been an honor to serve and teach troubled teens. Our school is a great place for students to find themselves and excel!
