Sam Lindgren was born and raised in Southern Utah. His mother was a school teacher and his father a professional artist. After graduating high school, he wanted to pursue a career as an illustrator / graphic artist and attended classes at Utah Valley University where he earned an Associate's degree in the graphic arts. He worked for several companies designing sales brochures, product labels, and catalogues, but found that the work limited creative expression. Consequently, he went back to school, this time at the University of Utah where he earned a Bachelor's degree in English and a teaching certificate.

Sam took his first job teaching English at the same high school where he graduated and has remained in the teaching profession for the past 20 years. He loves teaching, but keeps his fingers in the arts as well. As a free-lance artist he has designed company logos, t-shirts, product labels, and book covers for local companies, schools and interested private parties. Currently he gets his kicks from cartooning. It may not bring in the big bucks, but it gets a chuckle every now and then and that's reward enough.
